South Side Shutters Creative Rights and Media Retaining Copyright Policy

At South Side Shutters, we value the creativity and dedication of our freelance videographers, and we believe in maintaining a fair and transparent relationship regarding creative rights and media copyright. Our policy is designed to protect both our freelancers and our company while ensuring that all parties involved are treated fairly and respectfully. Below is an outline of our policy:

 

1. Ownership of Intellectual Property:

  • All creative works, including but not limited to videos, scripts, storyboards, and any accompanying materials, produced by our freelance videographers during their engagement with South Side Shutters remain the intellectual property of South Side Shutters.

  • This includes the right to use, reproduce, distribute, display, and modify the work for any purpose, including promotional and commercial uses, without further compensation to the freelancer.

 

2. Freelancer Rights and Permissions:

  • Freelancers retain the right to showcase the work they have completed for South Side Shutters in their personal portfolios, websites, and promotional materials.

  • However, freelancers must credit South Side Shutters as the client and acknowledge the company's ownership of the work.

  • Freelancers are prohibited from selling or licensing the work produced for South Side Shutters to third parties without explicit written consent from South Side Shutters.

 

3. Exclusivity and Non-Compete Clause:

  • Freelancers agree not to engage in any work that competes directly with South Side Shutters during their engagement with the company and for a period of six months following the termination of their contract.

  • This includes providing videography services to direct competitors and using similar creative concepts or techniques developed during their engagement with South Side Shutters for other clients.

 

4. Client Confidentiality:

  • Freelancers agree to maintain the confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information shared by South Side Shutters or its clients during the course of their engagement.

  • This includes but is not limited to project details, client communications, and any other information deemed confidential by South Side Shutters.

 

5. Dispute Resolution:

  • Any disputes regarding creative rights, copyright ownership, or the interpretation of this policy will be resolved through negotiation and mediation between the freelancer and South Side Shutters.

  • In the event that a resolution cannot be reached, both parties agree to seek legal counsel and abide by the decision of the appropriate legal authorities.

 

6. Amendments and Updates:

  • South Side Shutters reserves the right to amend or update this policy at any time, with or without prior notice to freelancers.

  • Freelancers are responsible for regularly reviewing the policy to ensure compliance with any changes or updates.

 

By engaging with South Side Shutters, freelancers acknowledge their acceptance and agreement to abide by the terms outlined in this Creative Rights and Media Retaining Copyright Policy. Failure to comply with these terms may result in termination of the freelancer's contract and potential legal action.
